Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot in the chest on October 27th, 2021. He is currently being treated at the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery. The shooting took place while Abe was campaigning for his Liberal Democratic Party in Ota Ward, Tokyo. It’s not yet clear who carried out the attack or why.
