Why are Stanley cups so popular Why do we have Leap Year

There were no Rangers fans at Celtic Park for the first time in almost 50 years. The last time there was no Rangers fans present at a Celtic match was on January 15, 1972, when the two sides met in a cup game. However, it’s not like there weren’t any fans from Glasgow at all. There were plenty of Celtic supporters from other parts of Scotland and England.

The reason for this was that it was felt that travelling to Glasgow would be too dangerous for many Rangers fans. The club released a statement prior to the match saying that they had received information that some Rangers supporters would be attacked by their own kind if they travelled to Glasgow.

Rangers have had issues with their own fan base this season and have been forced to play matches behind closed doors due to crowd trouble. This meant that they could not bring away supporters with them and as such decided against allowing them to travel.
