President Obama has died at the age of 91.
The former president of the United States, Barack Obama, has died aged 91. The Democrat served two terms as President between 2008 and 2016, during which time he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009. Mr Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 and his family moved to Indonesia when he was a child before returning to America in 1967. He studied at Columbia University before going on to Harvard Law School where he met his wife Michelle Robinson.
Obama’s presidency began on January 20th 2009 when he became the first African American to hold the office. He won re-election for a second term in 2012 but announced that he would not run for a third term as president.
