Soundcloud Black is a $9.99 per month premium service that allows users to listen to music without ads.
Soundcloud has been around for a long time, and it’s still going strong, but the music streaming service has faced an uphill battle in recent years. In late 2018, the company was forced to lay off 40% of its staff after failing to secure a buyer. The service also lost some of its most popular artists in the process, including Chance the Rapper and DJ Khaled.
Despite these setbacks, Soundcloud has been able to stay afloat by focusing on its subscription services. In July 2019, the company launched Soundcloud Go+, which allowed users to listen to music without ads for $4.99 per month. This year, Soundcloud introduced a new $9.99 per month subscription called Soundcloud Black that gives users access to more songs and removes all ads from the app.
SoundCloud Black is now available in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa as part of a beta launch ahead of its full rollout later this year.
