Why is Gwen leaving the Voice?

Gwen Stefani is leaving The Voice, but not as a judge.

Gwen Stefani has announced that she will not be returning to The Voice as a judge for its 11th season. Gwen Stefani joined the show in 2014 and has been a part of the panel since, alongside Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams. This year’s series was the last for Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams on the show, so it seemed like an obvious time for Gwen to leave as well.

Why is Gwen leaving The Voice?

While there are rumours that Gwen might have left due to her divorce from Gavin Rossdale being finalized in September 2020, this isn’t the case. In fact, it was reported that Gwen had signed on for another two seasons of The Voice before her split from Gavin Rossdale became public knowledge. When asked about her departure from The Voice at a press conference following her divorce announcement, Gwen said “I think I’ve just had enough. I want to spend time with my children. I want to focus on them right now.”

Who will replace Gwen on The Voice?

Gwen isn’t leaving The Voice entirely though – she will still be executive producing the show and overseeing it as a mentor. It seems likely that Alicia Keys or Jennifer Hudson will take over her seat on the judging panel next season.
