Mrs. Hall is the wife of Mr. Hall, who is an Engineer.
In Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror episode, Be Right Back, a woman named Martha (Hayley Atwell) becomes obsessed with the idea of bringing her dead lover Ash back to life through artificial intelligence. When she meets a Scientist (Domhnall Gleeson), who claims he can do just that, she decides to pay him to create an AI version of Ash. In real life, Domhnall Gleeson has worked alongside Hayley Atwell in a number of projects including 2011’s Hanna and 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby. The two actors have also worked together in the TV series Little Drummer Girl and are both set to appear in Star Wars: Episode IX.
The character Mrs. Hall is based on the actress Hayley Atwell herself and was actually played by Hayley Atwell in an uncredited role for one scene during which she and her husband discuss how strange the Scientist is.
