The BBC has been criticised for not having enough women on Question Time, but it has also been criticised for having too many journalists. In September 2018, the corporation was accused of being “too London-centric” by Public Accounts Committee chair Meg Hillier. She said: “The BBC’s political coverage does not reflect the whole country and we have found it too London-centric.” Bethany Bell is one journalist who could have been used to help balance out this criticism.

Who is Bethany Bell?

Bethany Bell is a British journalist and television presenter. She was born in 1969 in London and studied French at Oxford University before going on to work as a journalist in France, Germany and Russia. After returning to Britain, she worked as a producer for ITV News and then joined the BBC as its Paris Correspondent in 2003.
