Wrestlers from Haryana have been protesting in India for over a week, demanding better pay and work conditions.

Wrestlers from Haryana have been protesting in India for over a week, demanding better pay and work conditions. The wrestlers, who are mostly members of the Jat community, have been carrying out a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi since October 24th. The Jat community is known to be politically powerful in Haryana and has had several protests against the government over the years. However, this is the first time that they’ve used wrestling as a form of protest.

The wrestlers are calling for their monthly salary to be increased from Rs 4500 ($69) to Rs 30,000 ($46). They also want guaranteed jobs after their retirement and improved medical facilities. According to reports, over 1000 people are taking part in the protest.

Why are these wrestlers protesting?

According to reports from NDTV and The Indian Express, these wrestlers claim that they’re not being paid enough by the government. They say that they’re struggling financially due to their low salaries and have been forced into taking up other jobs just to make ends meet. In addition, they claim that there aren’t enough opportunities for them outside of wrestling once they retire.

In addition to this low pay issue is the lack of healthcare available to these retired athletes. These athletes receive no pension or health insurance once they retire from wrestling. They also say that there aren’t enough facilities available for them when it comes to medical care.
