People are boycotting Disney due to the company’s involvement in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

In 2019, the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) announced that it would be ending its annual dinner. The event has been held every year since 1921 and has become a staple of Washington D.C. culture, but this year it was decided that the event should be canceled in protest of President Donald Trump’s policies.

The WHCA said in a statement: “The WHCA board regrets that it will not be able to hold an annual dinner at which it has always invited news organizations and their White House correspondents to gather together for a night of camaraderie and laughter.”

“We’re sorry we have to cancel this year’s dinner, but we look forward to holding one next year,” WHCA president Olivier Knox said in a statement.

Why is Disney boycotting?

“Disney made the decision to pull out of hosting the party at its parks on Friday, according to sources familiar with the situation,” according to CNN Money.
