Tom Brady has been called the goat for many years, but why?

It’s no secret that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the greatest players in NFL history. He’s won five Super Bowls, four Super Bowl MVP awards, and three NFL MVP awards. He’s a future Hall of Famer and one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. But why is he called the goat?

Brady was given his nickname in 2000 when he led his team to victory over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in a divisional playoff game. The Patriots were down 21-6 at halftime but came back to win 34-31 after Brady threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

In 2002, Brady had another legendary performance against Manning and the Colts when he led New England to an upset win over Indianapolis in a divisional playoff game by throwing for 357 yards and three touchdowns.
