The penis is a mushroom shape because of its two chambers. The first chamber, known as the Corpora Cavernosa, lies along the top of the penis and consists of spongy tissue. The second chamber, known as the Corpus Spongiosum, lies along the bottom of the penis and consists of sponge-like tissue. The tissue in both chambers is filled with blood vessels and nerves that allow for sexual arousal.

When a man becomes sexually aroused, his brain sends signals to his body telling it to prepare for sex. These signals cause blood vessels in his body to dilate so that more blood can flow through them. As this happens, pressure in his Corpora Cavernosa increases until it reaches a point where it causes pain or discomfort if he doesn’t have an orgasm soon enough. As this happens, nerves in his penis send signals to his brain telling him that he needs to ejaculate or else he will experience pain.
