An Instagram account that has been posting videos of “murders and beatings” since 2016 has been disabled, according to the Daily Mail. The page was taken down on October 26th, but the videos have now resurfaced on YouTube.

The account is called “deathtotheworld” and had over 2 million followers before it was taken down. It posted graphic images of murders, beatings, torture and other crimes around the world. According to Metro UK, a video from 2017 showed a man in Mexico being shot in the head at point blank range by two men on a motorcycle. Another video from 2017 showed a woman who had her throat slit by an attacker in Russia.

Although many people reported the page for disturbing content before it was taken down, Instagram only responded after a media inquiry. A spokesperson for Instagram told Metro UK: “We do not tolerate content that encourages or threatens violence and we remove it as soon as we’re made aware of it.”
