The Moon will be orange on October 27th, 2022.

On October 27th, 2022, the Moon will be illuminated by a total lunar eclipse. This means that the Earth’s shadow will cover the Moon and turn it orange. The phenomenon is known as a blood moon because of its reddish hue. It’s also called a hunter’s moon in some parts of the world because it is often seen in late October or early November, when hunters would use it to light their way through forests and fields.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon. This casts a shadow over our satellite, blocking out sunlight and turning it red or orange in colour. The red colour comes from light that has been scattered by our atmosphere, which causes a phenomenon known as Rayleigh scattering.
