Savannah Guthrie is leaving the Today Show after 15 years.

Savannah Guthrie is leaving NBC’s Today Show after 15 years. The news was announced on air by Guthrie and co-anchor Hoda Kotb on Tuesday morning, October 29th. Savannah has been the host of the show since 2015, following in the footsteps of Meredith Vieira, Katie Couric and Ann Curry. However, Savannah’s departure comes as a surprise to many viewers as she had only just signed a new contract with NBC News in August 2018. The contract was reported to be worth $10 million over three years.

Savannah Guthrie will be replaced by Hoda Kotb, who has been a Today Show host since 2007. The announcement comes just two months after Kotb became an official co-host of the show following Matt Lauer’s firing for sexual misconduct allegations.
