Rapper Nelly has been arrested in Washington state after a woman accused him of rape. The 42-year-old was taken into custody in the early hours of October 7th, with the alleged victim claiming that she was raped by the musician and two other men on his tour bus in Auburn, Washington. Police are now investigating the claims and will decide whether to charge Nelly with any crimes. In a statement, Nelly’s attorney said: “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
The alleged victim told police that she met Nelly at a bar in Auburn where he invited her back to his tour bus after performing at an event nearby.
