Bruce has been hosting the Radio 2 Breakfast Show since 1987.

Radio 2 host Ken Bruce is leaving the station after more than 30 years on air. The broadcaster, who has been with the station since 1987, announced he was quitting his breakfast show in a statement released on Wednesday (October 24). The 65-year-old said he was “very proud” of his time at the BBC and thanked listeners for their support.

The presenter said he would be taking a break from radio to concentrate on other projects. He said: “I have decided that now is the right time to leave my breakfast show. I’ve had an amazing time presenting it over these past few years, but it’s now time for someone else to take over and for me to move on to other things.”

“I am very proud of what we have achieved together, but I am also excited about what lies ahead,” he added.
