Who was Alex Murdaugh?
Alex Murdaugh was born on September 5th, 1995. He grew up in New York City with his parents and younger brother. His father was a wealthy stockbroker and his mother worked as a lawyer. Alex attended private school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He went on to study economics at Yale University and then worked as an investment banker for five years after graduating from college. In 2018, he married Julieta Otero and they had three children together.
Why did Alex Murdaugh kill his family?
On May 27th, 2021, Alex Murdaugh shot dead his wife Julieta Otero and their three children at their home in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Alex then turned the gun on himself but survived with serious injuries. Police found him bleeding profusely from multiple gunshot wounds to the head when they arrived at the scene.
