Instagram has been having outages all over the world since early on October 26th, with users unable to access the app and its website. The outage is affecting both Android and iOS users, so it’s not a platform-specific issue. There are many theories as to why this is happening but none of them have been confirmed yet. What caused Instagram to go down?
According to Down Detector, there were over 12,000 reports of Instagram being down on October 26th. As well as this, Twitter was also filled with people complaining about the outage. The website reports that most issues began around 6am ET (11am GMT), although there have been some reports from users saying they experienced problems earlier in the day too.
