Ronaldo was left out of Massimiliano Allegri’s starting lineup for the Group D clash at the Allianz Stadium, with Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain leading the line in his absence. The former Real Madrid star is one of three Juve players to have been left out of Allegri’s matchday squad, along with Juan Cuadrado and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in July 2018 for a then-record fee of €112 million. He has since gone on to score 29 goals in all competitions, while also helping his new club win Serie A and reach last season’s Champions League final.
