Ben Stokes was suspended from playing for England and his IPL team after the Bristol incident.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been suspended from playing for England and his IPL team after the Bristol incident. The cricketer is currently out on bail as he awaits trial, which is due to start in 2019. However, the ECB has confirmed that he will not be considered for selection until further notice. This means that he will not be able to play for England or his IPL team Rajasthan Royals until further notice.

Ben Stokes was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm following an incident outside a nightclub in Bristol in September 2017. He was released under investigation while police carried out their enquiries and he was subsequently charged with affray. The charge of affray carries a maximum sentence of three years imprisonment.

Stokes pleaded not guilty to the charge at Bristol Crown Court on May 12th 2018, but it’s expected that this case will go to trial next year. He is currently out on bail as he awaits trial, which is due to start in 2019.
