Alabama’s official colors are red and white.

The Crimson Tide is the nickname of the University of Alabama’s sports teams. The nickname has been in use since at least 1905, when it was used by local sportswriters. The name alludes to the crimson-colored uniforms that Alabama first wore in an 1895 game against Auburn University. It’s also said that the name was inspired by a well-known poem called “The Charge of the Light Brigade”, which contains a line about “Crimson tide”.

Alabama has won 17 national championships, including 13 NCAA Division I Football Championships. They have also won 21 Southeastern Conference championships and 36 SEC Western Division titles. As for individual sports, Alabama has won 15 NCAA national championships in golf, eight in gymnastics and eight in softball.
