Why has nobody told me this before

Boris Johnson has made a number of false claims during his time as Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has faced criticism for making false claims during his time in office. The first of these came on October 2nd, when he claimed that Labour party leader Sir Keir Starmer had received a knighthood for services to law and criminal justice. This was incorrect, as Sir Keir received the honour for services to the Crown Prosecution Service and the UK criminal justice system. The following day, Boris Johnson made another false claim while visiting an NHS hospital in South London. He told reporters that the hospital was “world class” and would be receiving an additional £20 million funding from his government, but it turned out that this was untrue.

The NHS hospital in question is Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, which is part of South London Healthcare Trust. In fact, the trust has been struggling financially since it was formed in 2011 and this year’s financial troubles have forced it to cut staff numbers by over 30%. This led to concerns about patient safety being raised by local MP Jon Cruddas. A spokesperson for South London Healthcare Trust confirmed that there had been no new funding from the government announced at any point since Boris Johnson became Prime Minister.

Why did Boris Johnson make these false claims?

It’s hard to say why exactly Boris Johnson would make such false claims without knowing what his motives were at the time. However, many people have speculated that he may have done so to distract from another issue he was facing at the time or just because he wanted to tell a good story about himself or his government.
