Harshal Patel has been dropped from the Indian cricket team, after a string of poor performances. The spinner is yet to take a wicket in his four appearances for India, and he was not included in the squad for the upcoming test series against England. The decision comes after Harshal took five wickets in four matches during India’s recent tour of Australia. Harshal was also part of India’s World Cup squad earlier this year, but he only played one match during the tournament.
Harshal has also been accused of sending sexually explicit messages to a woman on social media. The allegations were made by former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who shared screenshots of Harshal’s messages on Twitter. While Manjrekar didn’t name Harshal in his tweet, it didn’t take long for others to identify him as the player in question.
