Tom Brady has retired from the NFL, just days after winning his sixth Super Bowl.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL, just days after winning his sixth Super Bowl. The 39-year-old quarterback made the announcement on Instagram on October 27th, saying that he’d played his last game in the NFL. Brady’s decision to retire came as a surprise to many, but it wasn’t entirely unexpected given that he will be 40 years old in August 2022 and has been playing football since 2000.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Brady said that he was “grateful for my family and friends…and everyone who has helped me along this incredible journey.” He also thanked all of his teammates over the years and said that he was looking forward to spending more time with them and their families. “I am so lucky to have been able to live my childhood dream of playing in the NFL for so many years,” he wrote. “I now look forward to playing with my kids for many years to come. I have been so blessed in my life, and I can only hope that I have done right by all of you over these past 17 seasons.”
