Why did Sudhir leave Zee News

Journalist Sudhir Chaudhary left Zee News in August 2021.

Zee News journalist Sudhir Chaudhary left the news channel in August 2021, after a video was released of him making anti-Muslim comments. In the video, which was recorded in 2013, Chaudhary can be heard saying that Muslims are “breeding like mosquitoes” and that they “should be stopped”. The video was released by a group called Hindu Helpline, which has since been linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), an ultra-nationalist Hindu organisation. The RSS is currently part of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ruling Conservative Party coalition government.

The RSS is an organisation that promotes Hindutva or Hindu nationalism. It has a strong anti-Muslim stance and is known for its support of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), India’s ruling party since 2014. The BJP’s current leader, Narendra Modi, is also supported by the RSS.

Zee News has strongly denied allegations that it supports any extremist groups and has said it will take legal action against those who have made such claims. However, Zee News did not address Chaudhary’s comments directly.
