What is happening in Afghanistan?

Since 2001, NATO has been involved in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. The operation began following 9/11 and has been ongoing ever since. It aims to defeat Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups operating within the country as well as provide security for Afghan citizens and prevent any further terrorist attacks on Western soil.
