Wynonna Judd has paid tribute to her mother Naomi Judd, who died on May 30th at the age of 72. The singer and actress had been battling cancer for several years. Wynonna said she was “heartbroken” by the loss of her mother.

“She was a person who lived with courage, grace and compassion,” she said in a statement. “She was a gift to all whose lives she touched.”

Naomi Judd rose to fame in the 1970s as one half of country duo The Judds with daughter Wynonna. They went on to sell more than 30 million records worldwide.
