Why did Klay Thompson not play

Klay Thompson is sidelined with a left knee injury.

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson will miss the team’s next two games with a left knee injury, the team announced Tuesday. The Warriors said Thompson will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Thompson suffered the injury during Monday’s win over the Los Angeles Clippers. He was hurt while defending against Clippers guard Lou Williams, who drove to the basket and landed on top of Thompson’s leg.

“He’s one of our leaders,” teammate Kevin Durant said after the game. “He does so much for us on both ends of the floor. He brings so much to our team, especially offensively. It sucks that he went down like that.”
