Australia will send a song called “We Got Love” to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022, after Jessica Mauboy was selected by the Australian public on Sunday night.

The announcement was made at the end of a one-hour live show on SBS called Eurovision: Australia Decides, which featured four songs from which viewers could choose their favourite.

Who is Jessica Mauboy?

Jessica Mauboy is an Indigenous Australian singer who rose to fame after competing in the first season of The X Factor Australia in 2006. She finished third overall, but went on to release a number of successful singles and albums. In 2018, she released her fifth studio album titled The Secret Daughter Season Two and was a judge on The Voice Australia.
