Dogs can be scared of fireworks for a number of reasons.

While most dogs are not afraid of fireworks, there are some that do suffer from this fear. In fact, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), up to 20% of dogs are frightened by loud noises. These include thunderstorms, firecrackers and fireworks. If your dog is afraid of loud noises, you may notice them shaking or cowering during these events. They may also become destructive or bark excessively.

Dogs can be scared of fireworks for a number of reasons. For example, if they have been hurt by fireworks in the past, they may be frightened by them in the future. However, this is not always the case as many dogs will never have been hurt by fireworks before and still become scared when they hear them.
