The rapper Young Dolph has died at the age of 34. The hip-hop star was shot in a drive-by shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 26th. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries. Dolph’s label confirmed the news on Twitter.
According to reports from TMZ and the Charlotte Observer, Dolph was shot while sitting inside his car outside a hotel at around 4pm local time. Witnesses said that two men approached the vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Who is Young Dolph?
Dolph grew up in Memphis and started rapping at an early age. He released his first mixtape, titled “Dolpinator”, when he was just 14 years old. After dropping out of high school, he moved to Atlanta where he met fellow rapper Yo Gotti who took him under his wing and helped him get signed to CMG Records.
After being released from prison for drug trafficking charges in 2011, Dolph went on to release multiple mixtapes and albums including 2017’s “Bulletproof”. His most recent album “Role Model” came out earlier this year.
