Wael Ghonim was one of the leaders of the Egyptian revolution. He was a key figure in the 2011 uprising that toppled President Hosni Mubarak, and he is often credited with starting it. His efforts in organising protests via social media led to him being arrested by Egyptian authorities on January 28th, 2011. He was held for 11 days before being released and returning to Egypt. He has since been living in exile in Dubai, where he works as a consultant for Google.
