The US is facing a tampon shortage, but why is this happening?
Tampons are not a necessity, but they are an important part of many women’s lives. In the US, tampons and pads have been on the Endangered Products List since 2021. This means that they are in short supply and can be difficult to find. The problem is that most of the companies who produce these products have shut down due to increasing costs of production.
The reasons for this shortage are numerous. Firstly, there has been a push for more sustainable products by several large companies. This has led to fewer companies manufacturing these products as they try to move away from using unsustainable materials.
Another reason for the shortage is that fewer people want to work in factories producing these products because of the stigma surrounding them. As a result, there aren’t enough workers in these factories.
