Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot in the chest by a deranged man on September 6th, 2021. Abe survived the attack and went on to make a full recovery, but many people were left wondering why he was targeted. While the shooting was clearly an isolated incident and not part of any wider conspiracy, there are still some theories as to why Abe was shot.

Why did Shinzo Abe get shot?

Shinzo Abe has been prime minister of Japan since December 2012. He’s known for his right-wing views and conservative stance on several issues, including national security and defense policy. This has made him unpopular with many people in Japan, but that doesn’t explain why he would be targeted by a gunman.

Who is Shinzo Abe?

Shinzo Abe, born in 1954, is the current Prime Minister of Japan and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He served as prime minister from 2006 to 2007 and from 2012 until now.

Abe is married with two children.

He’s held several positions within the LDP before becoming prime minister.

In 1993 he became secretary general of the party.

In 1994 he became chief cabinet secretary under Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa.

In 1995 he became director general of LDP’s General Affairs Department.

In 1998 he became chairman of LDP’s General Council.

From 2000 to 2001 he served as chief cabinet secretary under Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori.

From 2003 to 2005 he served as secretary general of LDP again.
