U2 frontman Bono has attended a state dinner at the White House in Washington, D.C., with President Donald Trump. The singer and philanthropist attended the event as a guest of U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, after being invited by them to attend.

Bono is one of Ireland’s most successful musicians, having sold more than 170 million records globally as part of his band U2 and as a solo artist. He is also an activist who co-founded One Campaign and has campaigned for causes including debt relief for developing countries, third-world aid, social justice, education and AIDS prevention.
