Malaysia’s film censorship board, the LPF, has banned the Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder because of its gay storyline.
The Malaysian Film Censorship Board (LPF) has banned the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder because of its gay storyline. The LPF said that it had decided to ban the movie due to a “plot point in which one of the characters is involved in a romantic relationship with someone of the same gender.”
The move comes after an earlier ban on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was lifted by Malaysia’s minister for communication and multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo. That movie was initially banned for having a “gay moment” between two male characters.
