Jeremy Vine has been off work today after he was attacked by a gang of youths while cycling home yesterday. The BBC Radio 2 presenter was left with a broken wrist and a suspected broken elbow after the incident in Kensington, west London. He took to Twitter to reveal that he had been hurt, posting: “Soooo… I’ve been assaulted.”

Vine was cycling home from work when he was attacked by the group of youths. He told his followers: “They knocked me off my bike and into some bushes. They were thugs.”

“I’m having a few tests at Charing Cross hospital as I’m not sure if anything is broken,” he added.

“I am ok but if you were one of those 6 guys, please come forward and speak to police.”

Who is Jeremy Vine?

Jeremy Vine is a journalist and broadcaster who has worked for the BBC since 1989. He began his career as a news reporter for local radio stations before joining Radio 1 in 1994. In 2000, Jeremy became the host of his own show on Radio 2 which still airs today. In addition to this, Jeremy also hosts Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff.
