Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech was not called up for Morocco’s upcoming friendlies against Ivory Coast and Togo. The 25-year-old had been called up for the Atlas Lions’ previous matches, but will not be in the squad for the games on October 10th and 14th. In September, Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa said that the reason Ziyech was dropped from the national team was because he is “too busy with his club commitments.”

Ziyech has been a key player for Ajax this season, starting in all of their Eredivisie matches so far this season. He has scored three goals and provided two assists in those games, helping Ajax to second place in the league standings.
