Despite being a member of the British royal family, Zara Tindall is not officially known as Princess Zara. The Queen has never granted her this title, despite Zara being married to Prince Mikel of York and having two children with him. So why isn’t she a princess?
Who is Zara Tindall?
Zara Tindall is the daughter of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips. She was born in 1981 and grew up in Gloucestershire with her brother Peter Phillips. She attended Marlborough College before going on to study at Newcastle University.
What does she do?
Zara works for the charity Action for Children as its Vice President for Public Affairs. She also serves as an ambassador for Save the Children and World Horse Welfare.
Zara is also an experienced equestrian who has represented Great Britain at several Olympic Games. She has won two gold medals at both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing games, as well as two silver medals at both the 2012 London and 2016 Rio games.
