The Willow Project is a controversial new scientific experiment that aims to clone humans.

A new project that aims to create human clones has caused controversy after it was revealed by The Sun newspaper. The Willow Project will use DNA from cells found in ancient permafrost, and scientists say they hope the project will lead to the creation of an entire Neanderthal baby by 2027. Although some are welcoming the prospect of a Neanderthal baby, others have been quick to condemn the project as being unethical and dangerous.

What is The Willow Project?

The Willow Project is a new scientific experiment that aims to create human clones using DNA taken from ancient cells found in Siberian permafrost. The project was started by American scientist Dr George Church and Russian scientist Dr Svetlana Kibereva, with both scientists saying they hope the cloning process will lead to an entire Neanderthal baby by 2027.

Why is it controversial?

“I think it’s very exciting,” says Dr Church in an interview with CBS News. “It means you can bring back extinct species.” He also claims that he believes it’s “entirely ethical” for them to do this as long as there’s no intention of bringing back extinct humans.
