The study was conducted by scientists at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
In the first part of the study, researchers asked 105 heterosexual women to rate a variety of computer-generated images based on how attractive they found them. In each image, a 3D model was shown from different angles and lengths, with each variation representing a different penis size. The women were asked to rate each one on their attractiveness for short-term or long-term relationships.
In addition to rating how attractive they found each penis, the women were also asked whether they would prefer a longer or shorter flaccid penis for a one-time sexual encounter and which length they would prefer for a long-term partner.
