Russia has been accused of involvement in the Ukrainian conflict, and even invasion. However, there are a number of reasons why this could never happen. This is a list of some of the main reasons why Russia will not invade Ukraine.
Russia doesn’t have enough soldiers
According to Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, the country only has 1 million active duty soldiers. In comparison, the United States has 1.4 million active duty soldiers, and Ukraine has a similar number as well. This means that Russia does not have enough soldiers to invade Ukraine on its own.
The US would get involved
US President Donald Trump, said he would respond with “fire and fury” if North Korea continued to threaten the US or its allies with nuclear weapons. As a result, North Korea decided to back down from its threats.
Trump also threatened China with tariffs, and said he would impose them if China did not stop stealing American intellectual property (IP). China did not retaliate, but instead decided to stop stealing IP from America.
Trump also told Russia that it should respect Ukraine’s borders. Since then, Russia hasn’t made any more moves towards invading Ukraine.
