Ronaldo has not played for Portugal since September 2018.

Cristiano Ronaldo will not play for Portugal in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Armenia on October 11th, the Portuguese Football Federation confirmed. The 33-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury, but there had been speculation that he could return to action after he posted a video of himself training with his national team on social media. The Real Madrid star has not played for his country since September 2018, but he had previously expressed a desire to represent Portugal at the European Championships.

Ronaldo is recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since last season. He underwent surgery in the summer and was expected to be out until November, although there was hope that he could return earlier than expected after an Instagram post in which he claimed to be “almost ready”. However, it seems as though his recovery has taken longer than expected and it will now be impossible for him to feature against Armenia on October 11th.
