Phillip Schofield will be leaving ITV’s This Morning in September 2022, after 12 years on the show. Phillip has been a staple of British daytime TV since joining the programme in 2003 and has presented alongside Holly Willoughby since she replaced Fern Britton in 2009. The news comes just days after ITV confirmed that Holly would be leaving the show to join Channel 5’s new breakfast programme Good Morning Britain.
Why is Phillip Schofield leaving This Morning?
In a statement released by ITV Phillip said: “It has been an incredible honour and privilege to have worked on one of Britain’s most iconic shows for over 12 years. I have made some great friends, worked with wonderful people and created some amazing memories along the way. It is now time for me to move on from This Morning but I am excited about what lies ahead and wish everyone at it all the very best for the future.”
Who is replacing him?
“ITV can confirm that we are looking for a new co-presenter to join Holly Willoughby on our much-loved show,” an ITV spokesperson said in a statement. “We hope to make an announcement soon.”
