Pete Davidson is leaving Saturday Night Live at the end of the season.

Pete Davidson is leaving Saturday Night Live after this season, and it’s all because of Ariana Grande. The comedian, who has been a cast member since 2014, announced on October 11th that he would be departing the show at the end of its current season. His decision to leave comes just a few months after he revealed that he had gotten engaged to Grande, who is a former SNL cast member herself. This means that Davidson will not be appearing in any episodes for the rest of 2019 and will not return for Season 44 in 2020.

The announcement was made during an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Davidson explained his decision to leave SNL. He also shared his fears about being “set up to fail” when it came to working with Grande on the show. He added that there were other factors involved in his decision as well, including how much time he spent away from home while filming each week.

According to Davidson, he was spending two weeks away from home each month while filming Saturday Night Live and didn’t want to spend any more time away from his fiancée than necessary. He said that even though they both enjoyed working together and were excited about their upcoming wedding, he didn’t want her “to be by herself or have her feel like she has to do anything she doesn’t want to do.”

Why is Pete Davidson leaving SNL?

In addition to wanting more time with Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson said that he wanted more time with his family as well. His father died when he was just 7 years old and his mother died last year after battling breast cancer for many years.
