Monkeypox is a disease that affects monkeys and humans.

The World Health Organization has declared a global health emergency due to the spread of Monkeypox. The disease was first discovered in 1970, but this is the first time it has been deemed an international emergency. The disease affects monkeys and humans, although it is not yet known how easily it can be transmitted between the two species. In humans, Monkeypox causes fever, headache, muscle aches and swollen lymph nodes. It can also cause skin rashes and blisters.

It’s believed that the outbreak started in Nigeria, with one person dying from the disease in July 2019. Since then, cases have been reported across Africa as well as in Europe and North America. Most cases have been reported in Nigeria and neighboring countries including Benin, Cameroon and Ghana.
