Lamar Jackson was cut from the Washington Redskins in 2020.

The Washington Redskins have released quarterback Lamar Jackson after just one season with the team. The former Heisman Trophy winner had a difficult time making the transition to professional football, throwing for only 2,173 yards and 10 touchdowns while completing only 52.5% of his passes. This led to him being named the third-string quarterback behind Josh Johnson and Colt McCoy.

Jackson will now look for a new team to play for in 2021, as he hopes to secure a starting job somewhere in the NFL. In 2020, he was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Washington Redskins for a second-round pick in 2021 and a conditional pick in 2022.
