Jen Penske is leaving her role as editor-in-chief of BuzzFeed News to work on a new podcast.

BuzzFeed News editor-in-chief Jen Penske is leaving the company to focus on a new podcast she will be launching. Penske joined BuzzFeed in January 2018, and was promoted to editor-in-chief of BuzzFeed News in October 2018. She previously worked at Condé Nast, where she was the executive producer of Condé Nast Entertainment, which launched sites like The Scene and The Hive. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Penske said that she’s been working on the podcast for “a while” and that it will be a “lifestyle show” that includes interviews with guests about their “whole lives”.

In a statement provided to Business Insider, BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti said:

“Jen has been an incredible leader for our news team. Her vision for how we tell stories at BuzzFeed News has had a profound impact on our journalism, and I’m so proud of everything we’ve done together.”
