Jada Pinkett Smith’s new bald look has been the subject of much conversation in recent weeks, with many wondering why she decided to shave her head and donate her hair to charity. The actress first appeared with a shaved head at the 2019 Golden Globes, but she later clarified that it was only temporary and she had shaved it for a role in an upcoming Disney film. On January 29th, Jada announced that she would be donating her hair to Locks of Love, an organization that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical conditions.
The Disney film Jada is working on is called A Girl Like Her and stars the actress as a teacher who loses her hair after being diagnosed with cancer. She then begins to help another student who has been targeted by bullies because of her own appearance.
