Elon Musk is buying Twitter to get his message out.
Elon Musk has announced that he is buying Twitter. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said he was looking to buy the social media platform to get his message out. Musk tweeted: “I’m going to buy a twitter and delete all of the tweets.” He added: “Oops, I did it again.”
Musk’s tweets followed a tweet from Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey who posted: “We’re always talking to our founders and early investors about ways we can help them connect with the people they care about most.”
“We’ve been talking with Elon for years about the right way to break up some of these big ideas that he has into smaller pieces,” Dorsey said.
Why is Elon Musk buying Twitter?
Musk’s offer comes at a time when the social media platform is struggling to attract new users and make money at the same time. It reported its slowest user growth in 2017 since it went public in 2013, as well as its first-ever quarterly loss, earlier this year.
